The keystone species are Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Gaur, Swamp Deer (Hard Ground Barasingha), Sloth Bear, Wild Dog, ubiquitous Spotted Deer, magnificent Sambar Deer, Blue Bull, Hanuman Langur, Wild boar, Barking Deer, Jackal, Fox, Four Horned Deer and the recently rediscovered Mouse Deer.
Tigers, Leopards, Swamp Deer, Magnificent Herds of Gaur are the characteristic feature of Kanha’s wildlife. The keystone species enthrall visitors on tiger safari, the charismatic wild mammals, myriads of insects, butterflies, reptiles and birds. The preserve is rich in birdlife and attracts large number of birders and wildlife photographers from all over the World.
